NOTRE-DAME-DU HAUT, RONCHAMP

This church is located at Ronchamp, France. Designed by Le Corbusier and completed in 1954. This is one of his famous work. Placed in the middle of green field with lots of tree contrast with this sculptural building. Welcome, celebration, service, & symbolism are the strong concept of eaach side of the building.
   

The south wall which is curved inward, is welcoming people that comes from the path below the hill.

We can't see the roof from the west wall. The roof gutter is the only part of the roof that you can see form this side. The gutter will flow the rain water down to the drain

The interior is amazing with the lighting and everything. The light created a sacred  atmosphere. The lights were created by some light holes on north & south wall.

Church of The Light

This Church is located at a suburban area at 4 Chome-3 Kitakasugaoka Ibaraki-shi, Osaka-fu 567 -0048, Japan. This church is designed by Tadao Ando. Playing with light  is what he does.

The shape of the structure is simple, but behind the Altar you'll see light that is emitted through the window that shaped into the cross inside the church. So, when you pray in that church, the light will increase your emotion and will make you pray seriously . The volume of this building is 5.9 m wide x 17.7 m long x  5.9 m high, and cut by a concrete wall angled at 15 degree, that creates a connection between the church and the entrance.
