VILLA SAVOYE

Located in Poissy, a small city nearby Paris. Designed by Le Corbusier and Pierrre Jeanneret. This villa was build in 1928. This villa was built for Savoye family. Le Cobusier had such a freedom designing this building with his 5 architectural points.

1. Support of ground-level pilotis
2. Functional roof
3. Free floor plan
4. Horizontal window
5. Freely designed facades

The pilotis were erected from  ground level, which allow the walls to be placed freely.
Whereas the functional roof serve as  a garden, reclaiming the land that he used. At this point, you can see a lot of things from horizontal window, plus gives you a lot of lights. You also have freedom to modify the facades without the building falling apart because of the pilotis

The floor plan. On the ground level, there are garage, chauffeur & maid's room, and laundry room. At the first level, there are master bedroom, children bedroom, guest bedroom, kitchen, salon, and a lot of other rooms.

I think, this is his masterpiece. The owner can modify the building freely, I like that,
